Family

Over the break I spent a lot of time with my family. In my family from my mom's side there was my grandmother, my 6 uncles, 4 aunts and 6 cousins. I had a lot of parties with my family. It was so much fun!

We always had a very good meal in every party we had. The food that we usually have in the parties are Lechon, Lecheflan and a lot more foods. These foods are Filipino foods because my family lives in the Philippines.

After we ate some of the adults just talked until everybody left but sometimes they played the guitar and sang a few songs. They did not sound good at all. My mom was the one who was playing the guitar and she was also singing. She played the guitar really well but she didn't sound to good. I liked to play cards with my some of my uncles and my cousins while the adults talked and sang. I really enjoyed the food! I also enjoyed talking and playing cards with my family because I haven't seen them since August! I had the best time with my family, this is one of the things I like best about the Christmas Break!

Christmas Presents

On December 19 my mom got back home I was inside playing cards with my uncles. I was so happy to see my brother, Rommel again. I haven’t seen him since August. When he went in the house he told me to open his suitcase and put the presents under the Christmas tree. When I saw the outside of the card of one of the presents it said Maria. Then I read the other cards and they said Rachel, Noelle and Rachel, Maria and Noelle. I didn’t know that he would get presents for me and my sisters.
When I helped him bring his bag to his room he started playing a game on his computer. It was called Plants vs. Zombies. He let me add a new user and it was so much fun! I got really addicted to it. I played it non-stop. It was one of the most fun games I have ever played on the computer.

Home At Last- December 16

After the trip I had a long peaceful sleep. The next morning my mom woke me up to tell me that she was going back to Manila. I didn’t really care at that time because I was really sleepy. When I went down for breakfast I felt sick. For breakfast we had pancakes from McDonalds. I was just about to eat when I felt really sick. I felt like puking. My mom would have known what to do to help me but she was gone.

I felt sick the whole day and I thought I was going to be sick until my mom came back but at the end of the day I didn’t feel sick anymore. I hope this is the only day that I would be sick. I can’t wait to tell my mom about the day I got sick.

The Flight

It was only the 15th of December and I had to leave to the Philippines! At 10:00 pm we had to go to the airport. My flight was at 12:30 in the morning on the 17th. When we got to the airport the place was swarming with people. My mom and dad were checking in our bags and my little sister was sleeping but, she looked dead. My big sister and I were watching a movie that that was playing on the TV in the airport. When they were done with the check in bags we had to go and walk all the way to the immigration. It took so long for the guy to check and stamp our passports. I was just standing there idly waiting for the man to finish with our passports.

Then we had to walk all the way to the pre-departure area. When we got on the plane it was a really tiring flight. My mom, my 2 sisters and I slept through the whole flight. When we got to Manila, the capital of the Philippines it was 7:30 am. It took us a long time to finish fixing our luggage. We had breakfast at a coffee shop in the airport at around 8:00. While we were eating I asked my mom what time was our flight to Cagayan de oro. Cagayan de oro is the city where I was born in. My mom answered “It’s at 11:00.” We had 3 hours until our next flight! We left the coffee shop at around 8:15. We were so bored that we went upstairs to see if there was anything else to do. My mom went to a restaurant to eat because she didn’t eat that much in the coffee shop.

The name of the restaurant was Jolibee. We ordered 2, rice and beef tappa breakfast packets. All of that food was overwhelming. It was delicious! After we ate we went into the airport and by 8:45 we were in the pre-departure area. We still had to wait for 2 hours and 15 minutes. There was a flight that was boarding at around 9:00-9:30 in the same area where my flight was going board. The plane that I was going to take wasn’t there yet. When it was time to go on the plane everybody made a really long line. I fell asleep right before we were supposed to go up in the air. When I woke up we were already landing. When we got into the airport my mom told my sisters and me to go into my uncle’s car and wait for her there. When we were driving to my house I realized the sky in Cagayan de oro was bluer and cleaner than the sky in Jakarta.
