Word Art

This is my wordart
In art class we are working on Word art. Word art is when you make a picture, of a noun and make the noun's name, fit in the picture. The name of the noun isn't supposed to be very obvious, in the picture. You have to guess what the noun is, just by looking at what it is, and not by finding the name.

My noun is numbers and we don't draw our word art, but we make it a collage. I made a big calculator, out of paper, and then I cut out the numbers/letters of the word, from different colored papers. I put the numbers on top of the calculator to make it look like the numbers are flying out, of the calculator.

These are some examples of word art:

iPods, iPads and Laptop Skins

In class we are working on a project, where we design skins and screen savers for iPod touch, iPad, iPod classic or a laptop. I did an iPod touch, because I want to get an iPod touch, but I can't.

For my iPod touch design I picked one of the elements, nature with a bit of Personal Design. First I drew trees circling the paper, then I divided the papers in lines and colored normal colors, then red colors. It was red, normal, red, normal, red, then normal.

My
iSkin is repetition and simplify, because my trees are very simple and cartoonish and I repeat the trees in my design. I used HURBE by making the colors the same, and having the same amount of red and normal colors. I also made the middle of my art the emphasis.

JINGLE......
It's green, We're clean,
It's red, We're dead,
It's blue, We're new,
It's brown, Don't frown

FINISHED!

Lie vs. Asking Questions

If I had a choice to pick between lying or asking questions and getting true answers I would choose to ask any questions because I like to know things, and if I lie it makes me feel kind of guilty. I would know things that a lot of other people might not know. It also gets annoying when people answer your questions with, "Ask me later," or, "Not now," or even, "I don't want to talk about it." I like to know the truth about a lot of questions I have.

The Giver Journal Entry

The ceremony of Twelve is over now, and I feel nervous and confused about my new selection. What is The Receiver of Memory, and why hasn't anybody ever mention this to me? I'm looking through my list of instructions and I don't get it, I'm allowed to lie? The pain, of The Receiver of Memory doesn't sound that good, but it is a very important job in the community. I wonder why I was given the position as The Receiver of Memory, and what I will learn from this experience.

Psych

On Friday we watched an episode of Psych in class. The name of the episode was Pilot.
The crime was that there was a kidnapping but it turned out to be fake. Then there was murder.
The detectives were Sean and Gus.
The villain was Mr. McCallen.
The victims were Kamden McCallen and his friend Malcom Orso.
The suspects were Mr. McCallen and Katerina McCallen.
The sense of danger, suspense or tension was when Sean explained the crime in front of everybody.
The red herring was the bag with the ransom money when it turned out to be a bag of clothes for a thrift shop and the gun in Malcom's hand.
The witness was Kamden McCallen's dog.
The evidence was Kamden and Malcom's bodies, the gun, the coffee mug, the blood on the corner of the table, the dog bite medication and the cut on Mr. McCallen's wrist.
The clue was the blood on the dog's whisker.
The investigation was the police investigation with Gus and Sean.
The surprise ending was when the dad was the killer of his own son and Malcom.

Monk Conclusion

Today in class we watched a TV series called Monk. The episode we saw was the voodoo mystery. In every mystery there is a crime and the crime in Monk is when Angeline dills her uncle. She kills her uncle for the money because her uncle is very wealthy. The detective who investigates the crime is Monk. The bad guy in the episode is Angeline and her alibi was that she was upstairs when the crime happened. The victim is the uncle of Angeline. One of the suspects is Reverend Jorgenson, the shop keeper of the store that sells the voodoo dolls. The part where there was a sense of danger was when Monk was chasing the bad guy. The red herring was the other victims of the voodoo dolls. There were no witnesses of the crime. The evidence was the horse shoe and pills. One clue is the newspaper picture that Angeline was in. Monk was there when the police was investigating the crime, so he was at the police investigation. The surprise was when Angeline was the murderer.

Plastiki

Plastiki is a boat made out of twelve thousand five hundred recycled plastic bottles. Plastiki is also made of new technology that hasn't been tested at sea yet. Inside the cabin of Plastiki there is technology for modern sailing. There are also many other things that make Plastiki more complicated. The person who thought of the idea about plastiki is David de Rothschild. It took more than 3 years to finish making plastiki from a drawing board to the boat that it is now. The bottom part of Plastiki is very primitive but he upper part is modern.

David wants to show the world that this boat really works so he and his crew will sail across the Pacific Ocean. Starting from San Francisco, California to Sydney, Australia. He made Plastiki to show other people about plastic waste. David doesn't really care if they make it to Sydney or not because he has already shown awareness about plastic waste. There are 6 crew members including David. They will cross the Pacific Ocean hoping that Plastiki will keep them afloat.

Family

Over the break I spent a lot of time with my family. In my family from my mom's side there was my grandmother, my 6 uncles, 4 aunts and 6 cousins. I had a lot of parties with my family. It was so much fun!

We always had a very good meal in every party we had. The food that we usually have in the parties are Lechon, Lecheflan and a lot more foods. These foods are Filipino foods because my family lives in the Philippines.

After we ate some of the adults just talked until everybody left but sometimes they played the guitar and sang a few songs. They did not sound good at all. My mom was the one who was playing the guitar and she was also singing. She played the guitar really well but she didn't sound to good. I liked to play cards with my some of my uncles and my cousins while the adults talked and sang. I really enjoyed the food! I also enjoyed talking and playing cards with my family because I haven't seen them since August! I had the best time with my family, this is one of the things I like best about the Christmas Break!

Christmas Presents

On December 19 my mom got back home I was inside playing cards with my uncles. I was so happy to see my brother, Rommel again. I haven’t seen him since August. When he went in the house he told me to open his suitcase and put the presents under the Christmas tree. When I saw the outside of the card of one of the presents it said Maria. Then I read the other cards and they said Rachel, Noelle and Rachel, Maria and Noelle. I didn’t know that he would get presents for me and my sisters.
When I helped him bring his bag to his room he started playing a game on his computer. It was called Plants vs. Zombies. He let me add a new user and it was so much fun! I got really addicted to it. I played it non-stop. It was one of the most fun games I have ever played on the computer.

Home At Last- December 16

After the trip I had a long peaceful sleep. The next morning my mom woke me up to tell me that she was going back to Manila. I didn’t really care at that time because I was really sleepy. When I went down for breakfast I felt sick. For breakfast we had pancakes from McDonalds. I was just about to eat when I felt really sick. I felt like puking. My mom would have known what to do to help me but she was gone.

I felt sick the whole day and I thought I was going to be sick until my mom came back but at the end of the day I didn’t feel sick anymore. I hope this is the only day that I would be sick. I can’t wait to tell my mom about the day I got sick.
